19 Jan Ghetto Mansion presents ‘Extra Pulp’.
Seeing videos like this one – regardless of overall quality (not to say that this one is lacking) – get me stoked just based purely on the fact that they come from BMX houses. I just recently moved into a new house with some riders in north England of all places, and it was a relief to finally step in the door.
I’ve always been a strong advocate of the local bike shop. They’re known for tightening scenes up, harvesting younger riders, getting them stoked on bikes, and being one of the main go-to meetup spots. I give BMX houses equal or greater credit, though. The ultimate meet-up / party / video-watching / BMX-hotel / spare-part-bike-pimping establishment has to be the often rare and always coveted BMX house. I feel genuinely bad for scenes with no central pre-game spot.
Anyway, this edit above is from the handsome gentlemen at The Ghetto Mansion in beautiful British Columbia. Features some amazing riding on amazing west coast spots and skateparks. Watch out for Mat Ridgeway, Kurt Murseli, Loren Lyftogt, Raz Gravesen, Tyler Zago, Joe Rombs, Braeden Barnard and Ryan Hiebert (who also put the video together). While you’re at it, make sure you check out my words on their Least Most article and their Embassy video.
