Ian Peters hails from just outside Winnipeg and has been quietly making his mark on BMX since first showing up to the city on his bright red Sunday kit. After releasing an awesome and well received compilation edit last year (“Let’s Try That Again!“), Ian decided to keep the tradition alive and travelled over 6000km to put together this amazing second instalment.

Featuring footage from across the prairies, Chicago, and even some clips from our annual SUMMER SLAM contest. This is definitely worth watching and an excellent keepsake for everyone involved. Thanks to Ian for putting together this video. At the end of the day REPSET was founded to promote BMX and the fun that goes with it, so this really hits home.

We’ve got some words from Ian below, and a Leftovers section too! The execution was nailed on this one.

From March until October 2015, my friends & I filmed daily to make this project come together. It was a huge undertaking but I am happy with the result. The Idea was to build on the video i made last year (“Let’s Try That Again!”) and make a video with a similar layout, but bigger and better. I travelled over 6,000 kms to ride different skateparks and explore different cities and have a good time along the way. This was filmed all over Manitoba as well as in Regina SK, Kenora ON & Chicago IL.

Huge thanks to all of my friends who helped me out behind and infront of the camera and to Matt Perrin & Hayden Mills for going on trips with me. The highlight of the summer was in July when Matt & I drove to Chicago, IL to attend the annual for the Monster Energy Street Series. That’s Augie Aughinbaugh with that crazy crooked grind down the kinker which was one of the spots we stopped at during the event. Enjoy.

Brayden Kowaluk braved the cold of Winnipeg’s harsh winters and brought his camera along to film the happenings at Repset’s unofficial janky warehouse situation. Tons of good moves from the squad as they try to stay warm. Spring is coming.

Man, this is awesome.

Most BMX riders have a couple memories like this that stand out from their early years becoming obsessed with this shit, and it’s awesome to hear Winnipeg’s very own Jason Enns share an early one. Sounds like Devil’s Dip, to me.

Spring is coming.

The Northern Embassy held a contest over Canada-Day-weekend requesting BMX riders from across the country to document the holiday however they saw fit and share it with the many scenes from coast to coast.

The Embassy asked us to “create a short video that is representative of how much fun [you] are having with [your] friends, which is the biggest reason we all ride bikes.” We took the opportunity to show our friends from across the globe how much (and why) we love the great city of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

We started filming the morning of Saturday, June 30th, and wrapped up on Monday, the 2nd of July. All footage is in chronological order. We also used music produced exclusively in Winnipeg by some of our most talented local artists (one of which is a rider, David McNabb, who is featured in this video).

REPSET is proud to present a weekend in Winnipeg, our favourite city on earth.

REPSET - SUMMER SLAM - A BMX contest at Komenda Memorial Skatepark

REPSET is proud to present a BMX contest at The Komenda Memorial Skatepark.

AUGUST 12th.

REGISTRATION BEGINS AT NOON.

KOMENDA SKATEPARK.

$5 ENTRY.

PRIZES FOR AMATEUR, CASH FOR EXPERT.

All entrants under the age of 18 MUST have their waiver/release form signed by a parent or guardian. The form can be downloaded here (.pdf).

Registration begins at 12PM, don’t be late!

Just to clarify some confusion, the $5 entry fee and waiver is for riders competing only.

Coming out to cruise the park with your pals is strongly encouraged and 100% free. We’ll have a BBQ and some new tees for sale though, so don’t forget to bring your allowance anyway.

As always, we’d like to thank Tenpack Distribution for helping us out and making this all possible.

It’s that time of year again. Due to some random dude poaching our date, and then cancelling (no surprise there, really), we’ve had to push the date back by a month.

Better late than never, though.

June 3rd, Skatepark West, 1PM. You all know the drill.

All the classics are back. BBQ, Gnarbar, footdown, prizes for shredders, and a few more surprises. Be there.

There will also be a special surprise event with an entry fee of $2.

Exclusively sponsored by the good folks at TENPACK.

Johnye West is one of the most entertaining younger riders coming up in Winnipeg right now. The Forks is his local stomping grounds, where he spends most of his time zooming around the bowl and heckling females. Enjoy.

While the news section of this website slows to an inevitable crawl and some new ideas start coming to light a newer scene of Winnipeg locals are still out there riding every day and filming as much as they can. This video should keep you entertained until REPSET’s next movement. Enjoy.
