Newest Volume ID features Toronto local Chijioke Okafo.

Chijioke Okafo went to Venice Beach recently and shot a ton of photos with Headford for a Volume ID. There’s a few riding shots mixed in with some… lifestyle shots. The most important part (for me at least) was the interview. Chijioke is a nice guy and never has a bad thing to say about almost anything, so it was funny to read him gloss over the Toronto scene when asked about it. This summer is time for a Toronto scene revival, so get to it. Torture Silva for some spots and move yourselves into a big dirty party house.

Chijioke Okafo and James Barton spotted in new Justen Soule video.

It’s a shame we don’t get to see more of Chijioke Okafo lately, but being plagued by a shoulder injury since last March has put a serious damper on his shredding schedule. He seems to be back in full swing lately though, and has spent the last little chunk of time in California with his work friends hanging out in the sunshine. I’ve known Chijioke for a long ass time and it seems like nobody has really taken to time to document how good he really is and do him justice. I mean, sure he’s had a few web edits and I’m not ignorant to how hard it must be to document his crazy hunger. I generally take it easy close to the entire duration of every session I have on my bike, but I’ve never seen Chijioke go less than 100% and throw the moves down.

Chijioke simultaneously possesses the craziest hair and craziest (scariest) flairs in BMX, and it’s been that way since the day I met him. Growing up (for the most part) around Chijioke still leaves me confused as to which way he spins and his foot stance, but he seems to pull it off gracefully. Maybe it’s because he avoids tricks that make it painfully obviously how fuck-footed (alright, it’s not that bad. More of an inside joke. Still though, which way does he spin?!) he is and sticks to tricks that he has a clear advantage over. Regardless, it’s always enjoyable to watch. Maybe we’ll do a quick sit down and pick his brain on-record about what’s easy and what’s not, and which way he does 360s according to what obstacle he’s riding on. Seriously, it’s that specific.

You can also find James Barton in this edit. I’ve only had the pleasure of meeting him once shortly after he moved to the BMXFU / Niagara region for school, but the kid shreds hard even if his clips do look a little casual (for how damn good he is) in this edit.

Sour Fever teams together to produce street montage. Critically acclaimed.

I’m posting this from a GO Train because the Sour Fever CEO is getting impatient and hassling me about it. Life of a small-time blogger. If you’re in Toronto, don’t bother calling any of these guys because they don’t ride unless it’s on super secret filming missions at super secret spots that are otherwise locked up for awesome web-videos like the one above.

Tenpack invades BC Interior on fifth week of summer tour.

This trip looked like a ton of fun. Check out what Harley had to say about it below, and check out some shredding from a bunch of rad Canadians above.

I can’t say enough about the BC Interior is that it’s one of the best places on earth. This trip was one of the highlights of our summer tours, so many great parks and spots, too many good nights and epic beach sessions. Check out some riding from the Volume and Demolition crew (Biz, Alfredo Mancuso, Andy Roode, Chijioke Okafo) as well as a few guests. Filmed by Luke Santucci, edited by Jeremy Deme.

Endeavour BMX Trailer

Justen Soule has finally decided to do a DVD under the Endeavor brand. He’s been putting out dope videos pretty consistently since forever, so we should all be pretty excited. Also, according to Justen it’s going to feature well known Canadian shredders such as Steven Moxley, Chijioke Okafo, Chris Silva, Jesse Trnka, Josh Cameron and more. All of whom are featured here regularly. This will be dope.
